I’ve used a food vacuum machine for 15 years. Wore out the first one, an “external” vacuum machine by FoodSaver (still available at Costco’s). Then upgraded big time to this “internal” chamber vacuum. I buy, then portion, vacuum package and freeze individual servings of salmon, halibut, large uncooked shrimp (four to a pack), boneless pork chops, chicken thighs and 5 oz ground sirloin paddies. For veggies, I stock an array of Trader Joe’s frozen stir-fries. Fresh store-bought fettuccine is also vacuum sealed and fridged, not frozen. Thus by chance fully stocked at the outset of the stay-at-home mandate, I’ve eaten well for four weeks with another week to go before the need to leave the house to restock.
