Easy-Peasy

Lots of steps are involved in preparing dinner, lots of decisions — like how much of this and how little of that. Some easy to pull off, some hard. So here we have a few essentials:

It’s easy:

To burn butter or burn onions in a too-hot pan.
To overcook bacon in a too-hot pan and set off the smoke alarm.
To use too much soy sauce.
To undercook penne pasta.
To overcook shrimp.
To use too much salad dressing.
To use too much cinnamon.
To use too much salt.
To use too little salt.
To forget a key ingredient.

It’s hard:

To use too much olive oil.
To use too much freshly ground peppercorns.
To fry out all the water in fresh mushrooms and then brown them.
To keep sides warm before serving.
To make the effort to pre-heat serving plates.
To undercook an expensive steak.
