Electric Cooktops Never Look Clean

Not much experience with glass cooktops other than to notice that they never look clean. This little bottle of cleaner was on the stove when I moved in, so I assumed it was part of the GE Profile stove package, since all the kitchen appliances were newly installed. This stuff really cleans when generously applied and scrubbed in vigorously and polishes with a final buffing with a clean cloth. I found the big bottle in the supermarket, so it must be a well-known cleaner.

Cooking on the electric stove top has been a learning process vis a vis gas. The highest burner heat settings are good only for boiling water–they burn everything else even when using my highest-grade pans. On a knob-marked scale of 1 to 10, 7 is tops for sauteing. And if a pot gets too hot, it must be removed from the burner, as turning an electric burner down has no immediate response. That said, it works fine. Haven’t tried the oven since the counter top Anova Combo Oven meets all my needs, so far.
